Local Democracy Days comprised organization of 12 meetings between young and decision-makers in 7 educational institutes (7 in Iasi Municipality and 5 in rural area).

These meetings have helped to increase young people's perception of local democracy as a common European value basis for building a democratic society.

• public administration

• possibilities of involvement of young people in decisional process
• available opportunities for young people to involve in actual society

These meetings, debates in schools have the role to discuss with young people the necessity of existence of a strategy to involve youth in decision making process and represent in the same time a social dialogue between these young people and policy makers.

R: Which is the aim actually?
MB: To strengthen the social dialogue between citizens and local elected because this is the democracy base.

R: Comming back to national project Community needs YOUth how beneficial is it such action for YOUth?

SA: Nowdays young people know olny to spend the majority of their time in front of the computer, night in clubs or in the city and they can involve also in such projects because are good for us, for our development.

From this debates (in schools) emerges an interesting fact beneficial for young people who took part in these actions.

Firstly young people evaluated the debates at the end by some questionnaires from which emerget the fact that they not really know the term of active involvement, active citizenship;they need more information for involve active in the community and therefore we selected from each school some young people to participate to Local Council Meetings in January to see practically local legislative activity.
