Multicultural Traditional Inheritances within EUROPEAN IDENTITY
5-14 July 2008

The youth exchange "Multicultural Traditional Inheritances within EUROPEAN IDENTITY" brought togrther in Iasi, Romania, at Ezareni entertaining station between 5-14 July 2008, 30 young people from Romania, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Portugal to promote and share their authentic cultural-artistic values.

The exchange was focus on traditions of participants countries' folklore in music, fashion and dance as aspects of the national identity.

The project objectives were:

  • Facilitate the intercultural exchange of traditional folk heritage of participating countries in music,fashion and dance, illustrating the national identity of young
  • Continuity and implementation inheritance in traditional multicultural European identity based on respect of young people for cultural diversity.
  • Use art as a form of communication between young people from different cultures to overcome intercultural barriers
  • Promotion of active European citizenship by developing a sense of civic responsibility on the membership of the European cultural space
  • Encourage active involvement and cooperation, spirit of initiative and creativity of young people by organizing cultural and artistic manifestation to implement artistically the multicultural traditional legacies in common European identity.
