Description of the Project

By organization of elections observation campaign and involving youth in the democratic processes we are ensuring the sustainable development of every country and the entire Europe.

We strongly believe that the youth active participation is a guarantee for the citizenship development.

This project is the continuation of the work conducted by GYUF and its partner organizations during past few years and will contribute to the formalization of the youth network aimed to encourage young people to become active citizens.

The involvement of young people in electoral procedures is an effective method to raise their interest in political participation

and becoming active participants in their community life and European life as a whole

Aim of the project

The aim of the project is to promote active political participation of young people at local and international levels through organization of an observation campaign during the Elections to local councils on October 31, 2010 in Ukraine.

Objectives of the campaign

-to develop participants' knowledge and competence in the key concepts of the elections and European citizenship;

-to train youth leaders and youth workers to act as young observers during the local, national and European level elections;

-to encourage them to develop common, joint projects in the fields of elections, political participation and citizenship;

-to acquaint the participants with CoE and other Programs for Inclusion work and intercultural exchange;

-to promote the cooperation, information and experience exchange among the participants, bringing to concrete follow-up projects and multiplying the skills and knowledge gained during the program;

-to provide an additional guarantee of legitimate elections to local councils in Ukraine
