The National Citizens Forum
Governance and Development

 


Iasi - Romania

       The National Citizens Forum implemented in Romania within the project Let’s get active! Incentives for citizens active participation at in the democratic life of the European Unionwas developed under the topic of Governance and Development.

     The National Citizens Forum involved 37 participants, as following: 19 representatives from the civil society, 9 representatives from educational institutions, 8 representatives of public institutions, including the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research, County Directorates of Youth and Sport, City Halls, Parliamentary Offices, and 1 representative of a private company.

       There were represented 16 cities from 12 counties and 6 regions of Romania (Suceava, Siret – Suceava, Campulung Moldovenesc - Suceava, Constanta, Dragasani – Valcea, Rm. Sarat - Buzau, Bucuresti, Bacau, Lupeni - Hunedoara, Ploiesti - Prahova, Botosani, Campina - Prahova, Bivolari – Iasi, Cristesti – Iasi, Iasi).
       The agenda of the National Citizens Forum in Romania included workshops on analysing the results of the on-line research and developing incentives for citizens to get involved and recommendations for decision makers and authorities to involve citizens and to create the proper framework to get citizens involved. Also, the results of the workshops were presented and discussed within a public debate at the Iasi City Hall, in the presence of the local authorities and the Mayor of Iasi.
